Alberta Health Services (AHS) has ordered the Town of Castor to issue a Boil Water Advisory effective immediately.

All residences and businesses in the Town of Castor or on Town water are advised to bring all tap water to a rolling boil for one (1) full minute prior to any consumption, including:

  • Drinking
  • Brushing teeth
  • Cleaning raw foods
  • Making ice, etc.

Residents and businesses may instead choose to purchase bottled water for consumption for the duration of this advisory.

This advisory will remain in effect until further notice.

The Town of Castor is working closely with Alberta Environment and Protected Areas and Alberta Health Services to resolve the water quality concerns.
